Polished Concrete

Concrete floor technology continues to evolve to meet the needs of building owners at a rapid pace. The CFCA is pleased to introduce Polished Concrete, a system of intensive diamond polishing and liquid hardening for concrete and cement terrazzo that produces extremely durable, high shine, easy to clean surfaces that are practically maintenance free.

After Polishing

Polished concrete was originally created to restore and enhance old worn concrete surfaces. Its wide acceptance and ability to create a showpiece out of old, worn out concrete quickly caused owners to begin specifying it for new concrete as well. Polished concrete applications in existing concrete floors can simply make your existing floor better than new. Dusty, worn, porous concrete is converted into a dense concrete finish.

Using polished concrete on new concrete floors creates immediate beautiful, maintenance friendly floors from the day the doors are opened. Institutional, commercial and industrial applications have been completed in countless facilities across North America. There is no limit to its use or selection for any concrete floor surface where a durable, GREEN, easy to clean, high shine finish is desired.

Benefits

  • Improved surface hardness and abrasion resistance
  • Reduced porosity
  • Eliminates dusting
  • Durable marble-like shine
  • Easy to clean
  • Water based, non-flammable, odorless and environmentally friendly

Polished concrete is not like other applied finishes for concrete and does not require replacement, re-application, re-coating or waxing. Routine and proper cleaning is all that is required to maintain a smooth, dense, glossy floor. Old coatings can be removed, wax can be stripped, and rough, dusting, staining concrete can be ground smooth.
